This page explains what personal data craftscool.com collects, why, and what your rights are. It only covers the two places on this site that actually collect personal data: the newsletter signup and the contact form. Reading a blog post, tutorial, or pattern here doesn't send us any personal data at all.
Who runs this site
craftscool.com (Craftscool) is run by Oolu Studio, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number 99241684. For anything in this policy — questions, requests, or concerns about your data — contactcrochet@oolustudio.com.
What we collect, and why
Newsletter signup
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address. It's sent directly to and stored by Kit (kit.com), the email service we use to send newsletter updates. We use it only to send you the updates you signed up for — pattern releases, tips, and tutorial updates. The legal basis for this is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing (a link is in every email) or by emailing us.
Contact form
If you send a message through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. It's sent directly to Web3Forms, a third-party form-processing service, which forwards it to our inbox. We use this only to read and reply to your message. The legal basis is your consent (by choosing to submit the form) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your data to anyone. The only recipients are the service providers named above — Kit and Web3Forms — who process it on our behalf to make the newsletter and contact form work. Both are used by many websites for exactly this purpose and have their own privacy policies, linked below, covering how they handle data as our processor:
Both services may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area (EEA), typically the United States. Where that happens, they rely on their own legal safeguards (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses) for the transfer — see their policies linked above for details.
How long we keep it
Newsletter email addresses are kept for as long as you stay subscribed, and removed after you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterward in case of follow-up, then deleted.
Other third-party content on this site
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts on every page, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers (this can expose your IP address to Google). Images in articles and patterns are served from Sanity's content platform, the CMS this site is built on. Neither involves us collecting or storing any personal data ourselves — these are standard third-party resources used to display the site.
This site does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers of any kind.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict how we use it
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time (this doesn't affect anything done before you withdrew it)
To exercise any of these, email crochet@oolustudio.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority — in the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
